My thoughts: I absolutely love this foundation. I have oily/combination skin and this is the only foundation that keeps my oil in control. For those who are a bit more dry, make sure you moisturize or it may feel dry. I find this foundation to be medium buildable coverage with a natural matte finish. I use the 190 brush (repromoted with the release of this foundation) and I find it amazing for moving the product around. Since this foundation dries very quickly, I find it best to use Fix + with it since it will give you a bit more play time.
For reference, I am a NC25 and I wear shade 2.0. I have also included a shade match chart. The coloring for shade 2.0 is much less yellow/orange which is great for most people. I find that Studio Fix Fluid can be a little too "golden" for me. I love how the shade range is so huge so I'm sure everyone can find their match!
So what makes this foundation unique is the fact that it really does self-adjust to match your skin tone! I'm not saying that if you're an NC45, you can wear shade 1.0 and it'll magically match you. If you let the foundation sit on your face for about a minute, you can actually see the foundation blend into your skin. This is a great product if you range one or two shades up or down throughout the year because you could probably get away with using one shade.
I've tested this foundation for about a week now. What I've noticed is that the lasting power is awesome. It kept me pretty matte throughout the day with no touch-ups. What's crazy is that I didn't even have to touch up once. This foundation is practically weightless and feels like you're not wearing anything. I highly recommend this foundation for every skin type and skin tone. This is truly a new MAC gem that I'll be loving for a long time.
Lastly, I love how sleek the foundation bottle is. Matchmaster is packaged in a taller, more slender bottle. It also has 0.2 oz more product than a traditional Studio Fix Fluid Foundation.

How weird..
I try the Matchmaster last week and I was MORE oily!!! My forehead, my nose, they were shining like crazy! I always shine by the end of the day but never that much..
I also find the coverage to be light.. Maybe because I have some really bad imperfections like dark spots and scarring!
I wanted to love this foundation so bad because it is actually the only mac foundation that doesn't turn orange on me!!
Great review! I really want to try this foundation.
Thank you so much for the recommendation, Jen! I might have to look into this one, maybe it's the foundation I've been looking for? :)
hey jen, how do you feel this foundation compares to prolong wear foundation?
YOu look great!

I don't think I need another foundation but after reading your review I want to try this out. Wish I read your review sooner because I was just at the MAC store today :(
yea you guys should check it out or at least try a sample of it. i think most of you will appreciate that the coloring is more neutral instead of overly yellow or pink. lemme know how you like it! :)
I love hearing your honest comments on this foundation- and the staying power is huge!! I must run out to try it, thanks for this review.
